Since 1990 I have been dedicated to elevating and inspiring a very
diverse personal training cliental.  Through the past 21 years
I have had many extraordinary experiences in the fitness field.  I
have worked in Toronto directing my own fitness studio, directed off -
ice figure skating schools with Olympic coaches and athletes and was
the fitness consultant for three major pharmaceutical companies.  I soon relocated to Calgary,  Alberta where I continued for the next 11 years creating an  exceptional client base and I am now very happy to be on beautiful Vancouver Island and a part of the VI Fitness Team.

My extensive figure skating background training with Olympic coaches
really did set the foundation for my personal training career.  I have
worked with clients as young as 5 and as active as 87! I am dedicated to seriously exceptional work with each and every client.  Teaching each and every client that with small daily improvements over time will lead to positively stunning results!

Back or shoulder issues, senior functional fitness, post – pre natal
fitness, sports specific training, athletic injuries, movement disorder training, general fitness or team training what ever your training needs are I can assist  and coach you to your absolute best!

I am currently enrolled in a distance education program at theCanadianSchoolof Natural Nutrition working towards my Holistic Nutritionist Diploma.

I have been passionate about training and wellness since my early twenties.  My life has been busy raising four children and participating in running a successful service company and llama farm with my husband of 15 years, all the while keeping fitness and wellness a top priority in my daily life.  When I started to pursue my certifications to work in this field in September 2009 I wanted to be part of a high standing organization.  BCRPA to me was the organization.  My short term goal was to be certified and working in the field before Spring of 2010.  Due to a relocation of our family in the Spring of 2010 toVictoriathis was extended to January 2011.  It was very important to me that as I begin my career in this field that I align myself with a successful business and a great team.  I am very happy to be working at VI Fitness West Shore with this great team of women.

My long range goal is to be able to help people reach their wellness goals with physical fitness as well as educate them in the importance of holistic nutrition.  I believe training is not only physical; it engages the mind as well as the body.  I love motivating and empowering others to set and reach their fitness goals.  Discipline and technique are the foundation of a successful training program.  Keeping training fun and functional for my clients and educating them in the importance of nutrition is top priority for me.  As I help others in their fitness goals I will continue to grow as a trainer.  I believe life is a journey of continual growth.  A leader needs to continue to grow or no one will want to follow.  I am a goal setter, I live life to the fullest, continuing to learn and striving to do my best is important in my life today.  My life experiences have been very fulfilling as well as very challenging.  I feel very lucky to be able to work in a field I am passionate about today.

Unlike many trainers, fitness has not always been a part of my life…my sport and workout influence was strictly base on high school gym class… (when I attended)  I couldn’t run a block as a teenager!

In my 20’s my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and it opened my eyes to my lifestyle and path.  Through friends, countless fitness magazines and the internet I started to understand the benefits of eating right and exercise on a different level.  It had a little to do with “loosing weight” and “toning up” and also giving me an outlet for stress and frustration, the energy to make it through the day and the ability to run a block (then several blocks at a time without feeling my lungs explode.)  Not only did I discover this was good for the body, but it was great for the mind as well.  Armed with my new found energy and passion I left my 10 year retail management career to pursue a career in fitness and personal training.

As a certified trainer I am so grateful to have the ability to share the advantage of exercise and nutrition with others and become a positive role model.  This may be one of the best decisions I have ever made – helping others reach their goals and expanding my knowledge of fitness and nutrition is incredibly rewarding to me.  I learn as much from my clients as they do from me.  Meeting new people and trying new things is helping me grow into a stronger, positive more diversified person.  I love to think outside the box and try new exercises to keep challenging my limits and the limits of my group.  I look forward to continue training and helping people lead healthier, happier lives.

As a dedicated mother of two, a healthy lifestyle is very important to me.  After the birth of my first child I struggled, like most new moms, with the baby weight and trying to fit time into my new schedule to regain my ideal healthy image.  With the love and support of my family, I learned to balance both and along with welcoming a 2nd child, succeeded in becoming a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer.

I enjoy outdoor fitness, hiking and keeping up with the many health and fitness trends out there.  Always up for a challenge means I am actively participating in new courses and classes to see what works and how it can be adopted into the routines that I design.  At home, I am trying out new recipes to find healthier options without skimping on my guilty pleasures.

My passion is unwaivering and the support I offer to my clients is strong.  Customized fitness plans, strong knowledge of food and healthy eating, postive encouragement and motivation…let’s work as a team to help you be your best you!
