As a dedicated mother of two, a healthy lifestyle is very important to me. After the birth of my first child I struggled, like most new moms, with the baby weight and trying to fit time into my new schedule to regain my ideal healthy image. With the love and support of my family, I learned to balance both and along with welcoming a 2nd child, succeeded in becoming a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer.
I enjoy outdoor fitness, hiking and keeping up with the many health and fitness trends out there. Always up for a challenge means I am actively participating in new courses and classes to see what works and how it can be adopted into the routines that I design. At home, I am trying out new recipes to find healthier options without skimping on my guilty pleasures.
My passion is unwavering and the support I offer to my clients is strong. Customized fitness plans, strong knowledge of food and healthy eating, positive encouragement and motivation…let’s work as a team to help you be your best you!
Hi, my name is Joanna. My career in fitness started when I worked for a company selling nutritional supplements and promoted the Body for Life book. Body for Life is a 3 month challenge for people who want to transform their lives; they take a before and after picture and commit to 3 months of eating healthy and exercising. The company run their own body for life challenge for just the employees. I won it and totally transformed my life.
It was then that I realized I wanted to be in the fitness industry. I went to University of Manitoba where I completed my Bachelor of Kinesiology. While in school I worked as a fitness trainer in a club in Winnipeg. After four years of school I got tired of learning so I went to South Korea and taught English.
When I came back I landed a job as a fitness trainer at Body and Soul in Vancouver where I trained variety of people from athletes to people with a physical limitation. The best compliment I ever got was from a lady who said that I helped her with a physical aspect of training as well as spiritual. After Body and Soul I was blessed with three children so I took a break from working.
I joined a running group and I sign up for 5 km and 8 km races around Victoria. It is amazing to see thousands of people run together, to see the sunrise as you are running and little kids waving to you.
I enjoy things more, like coffee with a friend, after going to the gym. Everything that is good in life takes effort. It all starts with having a goal!
If your goal is to increase muscle, loose body fat, or both, I can help you achieve it.
Take care ladies,
“Smile and let everyone know that today you are stronger than you were yesterday”.
“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.” Albert Einstein

I am a BCRPA certified personal trainer and group fitness leader. I was lucky to be taken under the wings of a long time fitness instructor who worked at two major recreation centers. I learned how to coach high and low impact aerobics and stretch and strength classes. I have participated in numerous workshops and taken part in healthy eating plans and I am quite knowledgeable in basic nutrition. I am aware of the positive effects diet and exercise has on my own physical well-being. I have an appreciation for what our bodies and minds can achieve.
