Hayley Zedel

I have been passionate about health, nutrition, and fitness since I was 12 years old! Now I am very happy to be sharing my knowledge and skills with people in this community. I studied fitness and strength training through Body Blueprint in Victoria and got BCRPA certified in Personal Training in 2013 and in 2014 I received my Advanced Personal Trainer certificate. I also have studied natural nutrition through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and became a Registered Holistic Nutritionist in March 2015. I have an extensive background in dance, aquatics, skiing, track, basketball, and wakeboarding. I have been a Personal Trainer at VI Fitness Peninsula since October 2013. My goal at VI Fitness is to help our members reach their fitness goals by not only providing goal oriented, challenging exercise programs but also providing individualized nutritional guidance.

Certifications: BCRPA Personal Trainer, Polar University, Emergency First Aid/CPR, and Registered Holistic Nutritionist

Brent St. John

Brent’s mission statement is “Fit For Life!” and as such has both Junior Fit and Senior Fit certifications to help you achieve your goals whether you are 8 or 88! Through fun and progressive strength and functional movement patterns you will achieve a sense of confidence and well-being to lead a full and active lifestyle. If you are looking to improve your health, prevent injury or to simply be the best you can be Brent has a program for you!

*Brent is a leader for The Ride to Conquer Cancer charity bicycle ride and is also certified by the Canadian Soccer Association, the United States Soccer Federation and Tennis Canada.

Sheldon Taylor

Born and raised in Winnipeg, I started weight training in my mid teens. I quickly realized my new sport was more than a hobby, it was a lifestyle. I obtained my personal training  certificate with the MFLDA in Winnipeg and began training and helping people reach their fitness goals.  One of my most memorable experiences was being invited as an Assistant-Strength and Conditioning Coach with the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1997.

In 2001 I packed up and moved to Victoria . One of the first things I did to settle in my new home town, was finding a gym to train at. VI FITNESS WAS PERFECT!  Recently I have felt the passion to work in the fitness industry again. I really missed learning new training methods and passing them on to others. Helping them reach and maintain their goals, whether it’s shedding a few pounds, adding lean muscle, or training for that next event.

Whatever your goals, I can help to motivate, strengthen, educate and provide the support  to get there and beyond. Form, function, and fun!
I started working out when my son, Judah, was old enough to interact at the local YMCA kid care. 20lbs overweight I learned that through a good solid exercise program and healthy eating I could achieve my goals. I knew I wanted to teach others how powerful strength training and exercise could be. I decided to go beyond just personal training to Health/Fitness Specialist so I could work with the people who really needed help. It gives me a great sense of purpose to know I have helped so many people achieve their fitness goals, weight loss goals, strength, and mobility and increase their overall quality of life.

I keep it fun, and challenging and always creative.

If I can decrease a woman’s chance of hip fractures, allow a grandparent to pick up their grandchildren , help an injured runner race again or a gardener bend down to plant a seed again then I know I have purpose and it gives the term PERSONAL TRAINER meaning.

Emilie Noble

I grew up in Vancouver, BC, immersed in outdoor activities including skiing, which I first started shortly after learning to walk, and soccer, hiking, and water sports. My passion for health and fitness has been building since then, and has inspired me to pursue it as a career. I have worked in a number of different areas involving health, including working as a gymnastics coach for four years and as a prostate cancer research student. Currently, I have a position at MOVE Adapted Fitness, an exercise facility for people with physical disabilities, where I work with clients who suffer from multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and stroke. Through this position I have found a passion for helping people individually to reach new mile stones, celebrate accomplishments and attain fitness and rehabilitation goals.
I am currently finishing up my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria and have gained an in depth knowledge of the musculoskeletal system as well as injury prevention and care. I love learning about the human body and being able to share my knowledge with others by promoting a healthy, fit lifestyle!
