Carol Hardy, BSc. M.A.
CanFitPro Personal Trainer Specialist
Carol is a newly-certified Personal Trainer with many years of experience in fitness and athletics. Almost without exception, Carol has participated in some sort of physical activity through every stage of her life (cycling, volleyball, field hockey, weight training, squash). She is also an active volunteer in the community: founding board member of the Comox Valley branch of Habitat for Humanity, coaching for the past ten years for the Comox Valley Girls’ Field Hockey league, and volunteering her administrative skills with a number of other local organizations.
A significant part of Carol’s motivation for physical activity is her mental health. Carol has battled disordered eating and clinical depression in her life. She has come through those experiences with a renewed understanding of how physical health can impact mental health for the better. Carol wants to share her passion for healthier living with others. She is a very organized, goal-oriented person who can help you set goals and find the motivation and methods to achieve them.

I was born in Edmonton Alberta, and raised in the beautiful British Columbia and Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean. I started Kindergarten and grade 1 at Green Bay Primary in Antigua. Went to St. Patrick’s Elementary in Edmonton for grades 1 and 2. Moved to Coquitlam in Vancouver and did grades 3-5 at Coquitlam River Elementary. During that time, I started running for track and field. In 2000, we moved to the Island and finished grade 6 at Union Bay Elementary and continued running track. My years at Cumberland Junior is when I started get out of my comfort zone and venture to other sports such as soccer in grades 8 and 9. Continued playing soccer in my high school years at Mark R. Isfeld for grades 10 and 11, I also took up basketball and cheer leading.
Had the opportunity in 2006 to go back to Antigua, where I finished high school and went to college for my Associates Degree in Accounting. I played soccer with 5P’s football club for 7 years, coached cheer leading at Ottos for 7 years and danced with Shivas School of Dance. By nature, I guess you could say I’ve always been into fitness. I moved back to the Comox Valley in June 2013 and decided to put my dream of being a Personal Trainer to reality. I am happier than ever now that I’ve reached my goal. My work has only begun. Now I’m aiming high with nowhere to go but up.
