Cindy Leech - Personal training Manager
I stopped going to the gym when my gym closed down. Being a mother of 3 children it was easy to find excuses and not make time for my health. 5 years and 30 lbs later I decided this was not the path I wanted to keep on, so in 2005 I joined VI Fitness For Women. It soon became apparent to me that fitness and helping people feel better about themselves was my passion. One course right after another, I soon began teaching classes and personal training. Currently I hold certifications with Bcrpa and Canfit pro in group fitness, personal training, older adult specialist and my newest venture, yoga certification thru Yogafit!! I found myself constantly drawing from yoga poses to help my clients and am so excited to have found this path and share my education!! I have worked with physio to assist clients pre and post rehab, posture issues, weight loss, small groups, core conditioning, functional training, marathon training and also trigger point therapy.
Fitness is the best personal investment you can give yourself!! If you neglect your health not only does it affect your physical abilities, but emotional, intellectual and spritual as well. It is never too late for you to get fit, regardless of your age or abilities..
Today I will give everything I have, what I keep inside I will lose forever…..Peter Twist

When I moved to the Island in 2010, I decided to make a career change, combining my passions for education and fitness, and become a personal trainer. People sometimes start personal training with a bit of trepidation, perhaps anticipating that the trainer will show up with a megaphone and shout at them to “get down and give me 50 pushups!” My clients often seem pleasantly surprised after their first work out, saying that they had fun and learned a lot while at the same time working hard. I believe coming to your training sessions should be something you look forward to! My 20+ years of teaching and program development have given me the experience needed to create a fun, personalized program for you that will fit your needs, ensure you progress at a realistic rate, and give you skills that you can use for life.
I have not run a marathon or climbed Mt. Everest, but I love exercise including weight training, hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, rock climbing and yoga. I do know how to stay fit and healthy while juggling work, family and other responsibilities and I can help you do the same. If you have been taking care of others and had no time for yourself for a while, are looking at getting back into fitness after letting things slide somewhat, or simply want to learn about your body and how to get fit, I can help! I would enjoy working with you to help you lose weight, tone up and get back on track.
My name is Jordan Tufnail, growing up I’ve always been very active, playing all sports and participating at provincial and national levels of soccer. While sport is my background injury has led to me to pursue other avenues of activity and fitness has remained a part of my lifestyle and a passion that I love to share with others. I graduated from Vancouver Island University with a BA in Sport Health and Physical Education, my degree covered everything from anatomy and physiology to nutrition, psychology of physical activity, exercise prescription and organization and administration. My degree deepened my knowledge and fed my passion, it led to me to pursue a career in Personal Training. I’ve been personal training since 2011 taking time off to finish my degree. I recertified with a Canfitpro Personal Training Specialist Certification and am back at it! I love what I do and I truly enjoy helping others achieve their goals and live a healthier, happier lifestyle.
